Heathcliff! A trip to The Moors

wpid-wp-1462037549383.jpgI‘ve just got back from the most wonderful trip to North Yorkshire. We read, we rambled, we breathed some seriously clean air, and we watched Rich’s sister get married at the beautiful Danby Castle. It was a pretty great long weekend.

We stayed smack-bang in the middle of the North York Moors — an incredible location with breathtaking views and zero phone signal. It felt like I’d been plonked in the middle of Wuthering Heights so I had to bite my tongue on a number of occasions — there’s only so many times you can do your best Kate Bush impression before you get annoying…wpid-wp-1462037504766.jpgwpid-wp-1462037500030.jpgwpid-wp-1462037485000.jpgThanks to the beauty of The North, this is a slightly different backdrop to the hustle and bustle of Brighton — I’ve swapped seagulls for sheep and car-lined streets for rolling hills. We stood atop this hill for a good twenty minutes watching the playful little lambs and their protective mamas.

In keeping with my usual posts I suppose I should mention the second-hand items I’m wearing here; my stripy top was a £2 bargain from Oxfam, and my belt was an absolute gem from a clothes swap. There are similar ones all over the high street at the moment (*smug face*). Oh and I finally managed a halo braid on my short hair! It’s messy as heck but let’s just pretend I was still rolling with the Wuthering Heights theme. I’ll blame the wistful gaze on that too…
